SCI Utah is at the
forefront in establishing and reaching the goals of sportsmen here
in Utah. Here are a few of the projects we believe make a difference
in our communitites and our wilderness.

Utah Legislation Support
SCI Utah
along with other SCI chapters across the nation donated tens of
thousands of dollars to help win proposition 5, a ground breaking
constitutional amendment that will help assure that our hunting
heritage is preserved into the future.
Conservation
and Humanitarian Efforts
We are funding
and supporting hunting opportunities for handicapped hunters.
Year after year we assist in scientific research for wildlife
Funded the moose transplant from Lone Tree, Wyoming to the book
cliffs of Utah.
SCI Utah was the first group along with the DWR to fund a sheep
transplant from Arizona to the Escalante River area of Utah.
Funding of numerous wildlife water guzzlers.
Funding and air survey of moose in northern Utah and bison in southern
Utah.
Funding of yearly black bear studies in Utah.
SCI Utah was the first conservation group to put seven mountain
goats on Lone Peak Utah.
Funded numerous mule deer projects and studies.
Educational
Support
Fund and support
SCI apprentice hunter program at the American wilderness leadership
school in Jackson, Wyoming for students and teachers.
Funds and supports the Utah becoming and outdoor woman program.
Funds and supports sending under-privileged youth to the famous
ranch apprentice hunters school in Texas.
Donated funds for the renovation and upkeep of the SCI American
wilderness leadership school.
Established a $2,500 annual scholarship at Utah State University
for a selected student in the Wildlife Management program.
Fundraising
Seventy percent
of all money raised in Utah via fundraisers will stay in the state
of Utah for Utah projects. Thirty percent will be sent to Safari
Club International Tucson headquarters to be used in projects for
wildlife conservation, education, political, and habitat issues
worldwide. Many of the funds sent to SCI's national headquarters
is returned to Utah in the form of matching funds for projects and
cash donations for important issues.
